Anybody else out there a major Chip and Joanna fan girl?? Are there support groups for this type of thing? Maybe I should look into that… Anywho, last November I spent a few gorgeous days in Texas with my best friend, Mother-in-law, and my husband’s family. My husband was determined to spend his vacation deer hunting in Indiana, so I took a short girls trip! I’m one of those super lucky wives who married into a really awesome family. I had a blast spending some quality time with them!
We spent a day at Magnolia Market at the Silos in Waco, TX. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, it wasn’t too crowded. This trip was a dream come true, I tell ya. I was so impressed with the market and the grounds! If you visit (which you should) you have to go when the flowers are in bloom! I was so mesmerized by the gorgeous Zinnias that I had to buy a few seed packets. I’ll keep ya’ll up to date on them once they’re planted.
Also, I’m just going to say that the smore’s cupcake changed. my. life. They have a bakery on the grounds named Silos Baking Company that is adorable. Don’t miss out on their sweets and treats! If I wouldn’t have had to worry about flying back to Tennessee, I probably would have bought one of each item to take home!
Surprising, I didn’t spend too much money! Partially due to the fact that I had to take plane travel into account, partially due to the small amount of self control that I was able to muster up. I bought a Magnolia Market t-shirt, The Magnolia Story Book, and a few other small items like this Magnet and these 2016 Christmas ornaments.
After leaving Magnolia, we went to see the famous suspended bridge in Waco. You know… the one where they show the families tossing bread or tortillas to the ducks on Fixer Upper. It is just as impressive in person as it appears on television!
After visiting a few more places in Waco, we made the short trip back to Dallas for the rest of our girls’ vacation. On our way back, we stopped at the Czech Stop where I was introduced to kolaches. So so so good! If you’re near by and haven’t tried them, yet… DO IT! Then, come back here and tell me how much you loved them! I highly recommend the sausage and cheese or any of their fruit options.
All in all, this was a super fun trip! I recommend visiting Magnolia Market to any other HGTV fans out there. November was a perfect time to visit because you still get the lovely Texas sunshine without the smoldering Texas heat. Also, make the trip on a week day if possible to avoid major crowds. I’ve heard of people waiting in line for hours, but we were able to go right in! Enjoy the trip, and make sure to take an extra suitcase if you’re likely to give into all the beautiful home decor!
